Sam is the Deputy Director for AI Capability in the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. He leads work on R&D, skills & talent, and compute – delivering over £1bn of investment in new supercomputers. Sam has previously worked on AI regulation leading the team to publish the Regulation White Paper in spring 2023 and supported the Bletchley AI Safety Summit hosted by the Prime Minister last November. Before becoming a civil servant Sam worked in higher education and consultancy in the UK and New Zealand. He grew up in Cornwall and studied French and Politics at the University of Nottingham.
Seth is the Exposure Solutions manager at the Hershey Company in the United States. He brings almost 26 years of experience as a technologist, including 15 years in global telecom, and holds a Master of Science degree in Cyber Security with a concentration in IT Management. In his current position as Exposure Solutions Manager with the Hershey’s Cyber Fusion organization, Seth is continuing to develop not only an understanding of external risks impacting the company, but also building upon internal controls from his prior role as a senior member of the Security Engineering group where he was a principal part of the development, implementation, and operationalization of Hershey’s next generation of firewall and edge system protections.
